Škoda wins three titles at the Carbuyer Best Car Awards 2024
Škoda has once again proved its strength in depth by driving off with no fewer than three major category titles in the Carbuyer Best Car Awards 2024. The judging panel found the Fabia, Octavia Estate and Kodiaq to be unbeatable in their respective sectors, honouring all three with top position.
Leading the trophy haul was the new Škoda Fabia, which was named Best Small Car 2024 by a panel of road testers and automotive experts. The Fabia impressed the panel with its refinement, large cabin and all-round ability.
“While small is the name of the game in this category, our winner is anything but small on the inside. In fact, anyone in the market for a conventional family car should look long and hard at the latest Skoda Fabia. Loads of space, plenty of kit, plus punchy and economical engines. A worthy winner.”
The Octavia recorded back-to-back wins to be named Best Estate Car - adding to its remarkable collection of industry silverware in the process. The judges praised the Czech-built load lugger for its practicality, design and value.
“If you want maximum load space but are put off by the size and shape of an SUV, then the Skoda Octavia is well worth a look. A vast boot, a smooth drive, strong engines and all the ‘Simply Clever’ features its maker is renowned for. The Octavia is our top estate car once again.”
Completing Škoda’s Carbuyer trophy haul was the Kodiaq, which the judging panel found to be unbeatable in the fiercely competitive Large Family Car category. Comprehensively updated last year with a fresh look and improved equipment levels, the seven-seater Czech SUV cruised to overall victory in the category.
“The Skoda Kodiaq remains our undisputed best large family car for 2024. With a super-spacious, beautifully ergonomic interior – no matter which of the seven seats you’re sitting in – little comes close for the cash.”
Combined, the current Octavia and Kodiaq have won more than 50 key industry awards since launch including Auto Express Car of the Year. The Octavia is the reigning Auto Express Estate Car of the Year and the What Car? Best Family Car for Practicality. The Kodiaq was also named Auto Express’s Best Large SUV earlier this year.
