Loving Hearts Raffle and Gala Dinner
The Thistle Hotel, Middlesbrough, was the venue for the Loving Hearts Raffle and Gala Dinner in aid of James Cook University Hospital Cardiac MRI Scanner Appeal. The sold out black tie dinner was attended by Rotary Club members and dignitaries along with many local business representatives and their guests.
Adrian Davies. South Cleveland Heart Fund chairman said: “This has taken the appeal amount to well over the £600,000 mark. Hard work and amazing enthusiasm in raising the raffle prizes have made this such a success, and I and the South Cleveland Heart Fund are very grateful for this huge boost.
The grand draw for the main prize a Skoda Citigo was won by Mrs P. Bingham of Middlesbrough. She said: “It was a complete shock to win. I went down to Derek Slack Motors today and have agreed with Tony Slack that the car will be black. I’m absolutely delighted.”
Mr. Davies added by saying “Thanks to this boost we are now well on the way to achieving our aim in assisting the trust in getting the vital cardiac MRI scanning up to where it needs to be to keep our excellent regional cardiothoracic centre at the top level.”
