Our Technicians Take First Step on Electric Vehicle Journey
Our vehicle technicians have taken their first steps on the road to electrification at the high voltage technician (HVT) training at the National Learning Centre on Monday 5 August.
The two-day course consists of the first module of the HVT qualifications, which will need to be completed by all retailers and Authorised Repairers before 1st January 2020.
The course is necessary for Derek Slack Motors to meet Skoda’s standard requirements from 1st January 2020 and demonstrates how to prepare plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery (BEV) electric vehicles prior to customer handover.
Module one teaches the fundamental technical and safety information required for high voltage drive trains and shows technicians how to effectively energise and de-energise a high-voltage battery. The module also demonstrates general technical processes to correctly service, maintain and repair these PHEVs and BEVs.
Module two, will introduce the new ŠKODA CITIGOe iV and SUPERB PHEV and their specific technical topology and requirements.
