Subaru reveal all new Impreza
The all-new Subaru Impreza was recently revealed at the New York Auto Show and will be launched here in the UK as the ‘next generation Impreza’ in 2012. Featuring new engines and transmissions with improved interior space, refinements and handling agility.
The UK market will see a new 1.6 Boxer engine teamed with a five-speed manual transmission or the second generation Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission). All new Impreza models will include Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Subaru’s invaluable performance and safety enhancing system.
Designed on a longer wheelbase but with shorter overhangs, the new Impreza provides a roomier interior in the same size body as the current model.
Tony Slack, dealer principle said, “ The new interior yields more room and just as importantly a greater feel of spaciousness with improved visibility. The design is bolder with more emphasises on Subaru’s sporty roots. One of the main areas of focus are the wheels, with powerful arches and a range of 15, 16 and 17-inch alloys.”
Numerous design elements combine to give the ‘next generation Impreza’ a sportier stance while at the same time giving a more commanding view of the road. The Impreza’s wheelbase grows to 104.1 inches while length and width remain unchanged. The combination of a longer wheelbase with re-designed interior trim and front seats has led to gains in passenger and load space.
The redesigned, re-engineered, restyled new generation Impreza will be heading for Derek Slack Motors showroom in 2012. We’ll keep you updated for more news as it arrives. You can watch the unveiling by visiting our blog.
